34 (1908) China Silver One Dollar Coin. Certified by NGC as AU Details, CLEANED. The "Dragon Dollar", as many call it, is one of the first coins acquired for many collectors.
The history of this coin is rooted from the 11th emperor of the Qing Dynasty of China, Guangxu (Kuang Hsu). His reign started in 1875 in the Chihli (Zhili) Province, which is located toward the Northeast of mainland China. This 1908 Chihli dollar was minted during the 34th Year of Kuang Hsu. The Dragon dollar coin depicts Chinese character inscriptions in the center within a beaded circle on the reverse of the coin. Illustrated on the obverse is the famous Chinese dragon with its wide gaping mouth.
