On the death of his father, he took over the Western Roman Empire, but was killed by another brother, Constans at age 24. Constantius ll, the most ruthless son, became Caesar at age 7, married his cousin, and on the death of his father faked a will and proceeded to murder most of the family. The only ones left were 2 brothers and 2 cousins who were children.One of the cousins, Constantius Gallus was elevated to Caesar and married Constantine's daughter, Constantina. He was later executed by Constantius ll for insulting him.
