Constans I or Flavius Julius Constans was fourth and youngest son of Constantine I, and the third son of Fausta. Four years later, upon the death of his father, Constans was given the central part of the empire, a realm that included Italy, Illyricum, Macedonia, Achaea, and part of Africa.
